Every agency has a story about why they started. Ours does not begin in a boardroom or with a business plan. It begins with two people trying to understand themselves.
Jay and Rachael came across behavioural science not through work but through a personal pursuit of growth and happiness. They were reading, testing, applying principles to their own lives and watching things shift in ways that felt almost unfair. The science of how people think, decide and change was sitting right there in plain sight and most agencies were either not aware of it or not applying it with any real depth.
So they brought it to work. The results were the same. Brands that had been struggling found their footing. Campaigns that should have been ordinary became remarkable. Buyers responded differently because they were being spoken to differently. Every test confirmed what the research already said: when you understand how people actually think, everything else gets easier.
That led to hundreds of experiments across real brands with real budgets and real consequences. Over time the patterns became principles. The principles became a process. The process became the MAPS Framework. And the framework became 1&O.
Five years later the agency has grown at 160% CAGR, built entirely on the same methods it uses to grow its clients.
Rachael
Rachael is a postgraduate marketing major who spent three years in Dubai working at RAK Bank and running her own business before coming home to Mumbai because this city is home and always will be.
She is a visionary and a long term thinker. When she works with a brand she sees the entire journey before a single word of strategy is written. Where you are today, where you could be in three years, what needs to happen to get there and in what order. She leads sales and strategy at 1&O and has never once recommended something to a client she would not do herself.
She believes deeply that there is a difference between knowing something and understanding it. Knowledge is information. Understanding is what happens when information meets experience and genuinely changes how you see the world. That belief sits at the foundation of everything 1&O does.
Jay
Jay holds two degrees, one in marketing and one in nautical science. He spent years as a ship cadet travelling the world before finding his way to 1&O. That combination of rigorous technical training and genuine global curiosity shows up in everything he does.
He is a short term thinker in the best possible sense. While Rachael maps the horizon, Jay makes sure you are strong today and getting stronger tomorrow. He is process oriented, operationally excellent and brings a creative personality that catches you off guard in the best way. He runs operations, finances, team management and client delivery at 1&O. When a promise is made, Jay makes sure it is kept.
Adwait
Adwait is a graduate of the Sir J.J. School of Art and a lover of nature photography whose work has been selected for display at the Jehangir Art Gallery two times in a row. Creativity is not what he does at 1&O. It is who he is.
He ensures that everything 1&O produces is not just strategically sound but genuinely beautiful. In an industry where creative work often gets diluted by committee, Adwait holds the line. The work looks the way it does because of him.
